Saint Ciro Patronal Festival

The 2025 Saint Ciro Festival in Marineo, in the province of Palermo, renewed the rites of the summer patronal feast during the days around the penultimate Sunday of August. On Thursday, August 21st, the solemn Eucharistic celebration was held, followed in the evening, around 9 PM, by the solemn procession of the float with the silver urn containing the Saint's relic, accompanied by the faithful with torches, some walking barefoot as a vow.

On Sunday morning, the cunnutta took place, the procession of caparisoned mules and horses bringing grain and offerings to the patron saint. Among the popular events during the festival days, there was also the parade of traditional Sicilian carts, as well as illuminations, a brass band, and shows in the town's historic center.
