Saint Bartholomew's Fair (Pigs' Fair) of Caorsa

The Saint Bartholomew's Fair in Caorsa was also celebrated in 2025 on August 24th, confirming a tradition that dates back to the 12th-13th centuries. In the churchyard of the Romanesque Church of San Bartolomeo, in the hamlet of Caorsa in Affi (province of Verona), the event attracted visitors from all over the Garda area. Although no longer a market for trading pigs as originally, the ancient fair has maintained its folkloristic and identity value, testifying to the deep bond between the patron saint of butchers and the rural history of the Garda hinterland.
