Saint Barbara Festival

In 2025, the Saint Barbara Festival of Tremestieri Etneo was celebrated on December 4th, following the program released by the Santa Maria della Pace Parish, custodian of the Mother Church.

In the preceding days, a triduum of prayer was held, along with prayers for the deceased at the municipal cemetery, the inauguration of the nativity scene, and the arrival of the reliquary bust of Saint Barbara from Paternò, with visits to nursing homes, parish communities, and schools. On the afternoon of the eve, the parade of parish communities, which started from the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua, reached the Mother Church for the offering of flowers and candles, followed by the exposition of the 17th-century statue for veneration and the evening procession with the relics and the Fire Brigade parade.

On December 4th, at the end of the solemn Mass, the float was taken in an outdoor procession through the town streets, pulled by ropes and accompanied by the brass band, with a stop in Piazza Municipio for the floral tribute by the authorities.
