Edition 2025 — Saint Barbara Sommatino
The 2025 edition of the Saint Barbara Festival in Sommatino (CL) took place according to tradition on December 3rd and 4th. On the eve, the blessing of the vampa, the large bonfire in honor of the patron saint, was held on the churchyard of the Mother Church, followed by the muffulettata with delicacies offered by local producers. On December 4th, the feast day, the community experienced the solemn liturgy and the procession of the statue and relics of Saint Barbara, protector of miners, along the streets of the historic center, renewing the bond with the memory of the sulfur mines and the town's mining history.
