Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony the Abbot Milena

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony the Abbot Festival in Milena, the 129th consecutive year, reached its peak on Sunday, August 10. The day opened with the 'purmisioni' procession and the blessing of the animals on the steps of the Mother Church, presided over by the new archpriest Father Gianluca Tirrito. In the afternoon, the solemn procession of the statue moved through the town streets amidst prayer, illuminations, brass bands, and 21 cannon blasts, while in the evening, Piazza Garibaldi came alive with music and fireworks.

2025 Saint Anthony the Abbot Festival in Milena

The 129th edition of the Saint Anthony the Abbot Festival took place in Milena from August 7 to 10, 2025, with the main day on Sunday, August 10. The morning masses at the Mother Church were presided over by the new archpriest Father Gianluca Tirrito, celebrating his first festival with the Milena community.

Among the most heartfelt moments, the 'purmisioni' procession carried the votive offerings to the steps of the Mother Church, where the blessing of domestic animals took place in a festive and participatory atmosphere. In the afternoon, the solemn procession of the Saint Anthony statue moved through the town streets followed by many people in prayer, illuminated by colorful lights and accompanied by a brass band, 21 cannon blasts, and music in Piazza Garibaldi. The festival concluded with evening pyrotechnic displays, in the presence of civil and military authorities.

Sunday, August 10, 2025: 10:30 AM Morning procession of votive offerings ('purmisioni'); 11:15 AM Blessing of domestic animals on the steps of the Mother Church; 7:30 PM Afternoon procession of the statue through the town streets; evening with brass band, music in Piazza Garibaldi, and fireworks (8:30 PM and 1:00 AM).
