Saint Anthony the Abbot Festival

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony the Abbot Festival took place on Sunday, January 19, the first Sunday following the Saint's liturgical feast. The procession, organized by the Amici di Sant'Antonio Abate association presided over by Alfonso D'Auria, departed at 10:00 AM from Piazza Codro Benedetti and wound through the streets of the Tivoli historic center—Via Domenico Giuliani, Via dei Sosii, Piazza Rivarola, Via Palatina, Piazza Plebiscito, Via del Trevio, Piazza Santa Croce, Via Pacifici, Piazza Garibaldi, and Via del Barchetto—until reaching the Bleso Amphitheatre.

At 11:15 AM, priests blessed the animals brought by hundreds of local residents: horses, dogs, cats, birds, and small pets, following a tradition rooted in over five centuries of history in Tivoli and renewed in its organized form for over forty years. Around 1:00 PM, the small wooden statue of the Saint, kept in the church on Via Domenico Giuliani, returned to the church, concluding the festival and effectively opening the Tivoli Carnival season.
