Saint Anthony of Padua Patronal Feast

How it went in 2025

In Marzano Appio, in the Upper Caserta area, the festival of the patron saint Saint Anthony of Padua followed its double calendar in 2025 as well. On Friday, June 13th, the saint's liturgical date, the community gathered for the morning solemn mass in the church of Saint Anthony of Padua and, in the late afternoon, for the traditional procession with the saint's statue along the village streets, accompanied by the brass band. In the evening, stalls with traditional local dishes opened, and the square hosted music and fireworks.

The external festivities, which are the most popular, remained fixed on the last Sunday of August, the formula long designed to allow Marzano emigrants to return to the village: brass band tour in the morning, solemn celebration, procession, and, in closing, the musical bell tower firework display of the San Sebastiano church, the pyrotechnic show synchronized with music that is now the trademark of the festival.

The organization was handled, as usual, by the Saint Anthony Feast Committee of Marzano Appio, with free admission to all events.
