Edition 2025 — Lu Sbannimènde
For the 2025 edition, the community of San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore (PE) celebrated the Saint Anthony Abbot festival according to the centuries-old rite passed down through generations. The religious program included Holy Masses, the blessing of animals in Piazza del Duomo, and a procession accompanied by the Banda Città di Chieti, along with the distribution of blessed bread and fava beans. In the afternoon, 'lu Sbannimènde' took place, the auction of 'frasche' and gifts offered by the faithful, while in the evening, the Saint Anthony chant and fireworks from Piazzale Porta Grande concluded the festivities, confirming the vitality of one of the most genuine Carnival traditions in Abruzzo.
