Saint Anthony Abbot Festival in the hamlets of Montereale

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony Abbot Festival confirmed the vitality of the Alto Aterno rituals in the Municipality of Montereale (AQ). In Cesaproba, on January 17th, the day opened at 9:30 AM with the arrival of the band and at 10:00 AM with the folk group, followed by the procession from Piazza Lucia Fluttuante, the religious service, and the blessing of the animals, followed by the community lunch. In Ville di Fano, on January 18th, after mass at the church of S. Lucia, there were fireworks, the blessing of the animals, and the zampitti auction, with an evening dinner enlivened by poets and traditional instruments. In Cabbia, on January 19th, the procession and the lunch with Saint Anthony's pork rinds closed the three days, amidst bonfires, panonta, and the children's begging rounds.
