Saint Anthony Abbot Festival in San Lorenzo Nuovo

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony Abbot Festival took place on Sunday, January 19th, moving the celebrations, as is customary, to the Sunday closest to the January 17th anniversary. The day, promoted with the patronage of the Municipality of San Lorenzo Nuovo, was entirely dedicated to the rural traditions of the Viterbo Tuscia: in the morning, the distribution of fava beans along the streets and countryside of the town, followed by the parade of floats and animals with the presentation of rosettes to the participants.

The central moments of the festival were held in Piazza Europa: the blessing of the animals, the awarding of the Saint Anthony floats, and the traditional snack open to everyone, with the distribution of the Saint Anthony biscuit, the sweet symbol of the San Lorenzo community. An edition well-documented by the regional tourism portal VisitLazio, confirming the deep roots of this festival in the winter calendar of Lazio.
