Saint Anthony Abbot Feast and Scottone Festival

2025 Edition

From January 14 to 16, 2025, the Parish of S. Maria Assunta in Cielo hosted the preparatory triduum with the rosary, vespers, and Holy Mass; on Friday, January 17, the saint's day, blank shots at dawn announced the feast, which concluded in the evening with a solemn mass. On Sunday, January 19, the Castelli Romani village came alive from the early hours: scottone stands opened at 9:00 AM, the Corbium Musical Band paraded and floats gathered at 9:30 AM, the procession began at 11:00 AM, and the blessing of the animals with the distribution of blessed bread took place at 11:30 AM.

The midday awards ceremony assigned first place to the "Rocca Priora Medievale" float by Luca Massimi, second to "Santuario e Parco Madonna della Neve" by Leonardo Mariani, and third to "Mulino a vento" by Serafino Mastrella; an ex aequo mention was given to "La Pergola" and "Stadio Monte Fiore". Mayor Claudio Fatelli defined the event as a symbol of faith, history, and identity for the community, thanking the Confraternity of Saint Anthony Abbot for the organization.
