Saint Anne's Festival and Sheaves Parade

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anne's Festival took place in Pescolanciano on July 25th and 26th according to tradition. The Sheaves Parade featured a procession of wheat 'manuocchi' decorated with flowers, carried on heads with the spara, on carts, on sleds, and by hand by participants in traditional costume and reapers' clothes. The procession, accompanied by the band and the hymn to the saint, followed the statue of Saint Anne to the Church of the Savior for the blessing of the wheat. A festival that annually renews the vow made by the community after the 1805 earthquake and preserves the peasant identity of Alto Molise.
