Edition 2025 — Saint Ambrose Festival

On December 7, 2025, Buccheri celebrated its patron saint, Saint Ambrose, with the traditional patronal festival. The festivities centered on the solemn mass in the Mother Church of the Iblei village, in the province of Syracuse, where the wooden statue of the saint, created in 1779 by Gaetano Franzese, is kept. A day of devotion and community on the Iblei Mountains plateau, in the heart of the Sicilian winter.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Ambrose Festival took place on December 7th, according to the established tradition that binds the village of Buccheri to its patron saint. The most solemn moment was the mass celebrated in the Mother Church, the 1798 neoclassical building dedicated to Saint Ambrose that dominates the center of the village.

As every year, the community of Buccheri gathered around the wooden statue of the saint, an 18th-century work by Gaetano Franzese, in a day of devotion and celebration in the heart of winter in the Iblei Mountains, in the province of Syracuse.
