Edition 2025 — Person of the Year

The fourth edition of the Sagron Mis Festival took place on September 19-20, 2025, focusing on the theme of depopulation in high-altitude areas. Two days of hiking, meetings, music, and tradition brought together scholars, mountaineers, and administrators, featuring the mayor of Ostana, a community that serves as a symbol of alpine rebirth. The program included a hike led by Alessandro Gogna, a tribute to the seggiolai (chair makers) of Sagron Mis with anthropologist Angelo Longo, a debate on living in the mountains, and a string concert by Miriam Daldon and Glauco Bertagnin, followed by a country lunch offered by the Pro Loco.

2025 Edition: The mountains that resist

The fourth edition of the Sagron Mis Festival — Person of the Year was held on September 19 and 20, 2025, shifting the event from summer to early autumn. The central theme was the depopulation of high-altitude areas and the ability of mountain communities to react and renew themselves.

Friday opened with a hike led by Alessandro Gogna featuring historical and environmental readings, followed by a tribute to the traditional craft of the seggiolai (chair makers) of Sagron Mis with anthropologist Angelo Longo, and a string concert by Miriam Daldon and Glauco Bertagnin. Saturday featured a chair-making exhibition and workshop in Piazza Municipio, a country lunch by the Pro Loco, and a debate on living in the mountains in harmony with the environment and economic needs, featuring the testimony of the mayor of Ostana, in Piedmont, a model of alpine rebirth. The free event concluded with the presentation of the award dedicated to local excellence.
