Edition 2025 — Sagra te lu Purpu

The 2025 edition of the Sagra te lu Purpu took place in Melendugno from August 5th to 8th, confirming itself as one of the most popular gastronomic events of the Salento summer. Four evenings of octopus in every variation, 'mieru' wine, typical products, live music, and 'pizzica' enlivened the town, just a few kilometers from the seaside resorts of San Foca and Torre dell'Orso.

From August 5th to 8th, 2025, Melendugno hosted a new, crowded edition of the Sagra te lu Purpu. The food stalls offered octopus according to traditional Salento recipes — fried, 'alla pignata', with potatoes, in meatballs, and in salad — accompanied by 'pittule', bruschetta, and local 'mieru' wine. The evenings were enlivened by live music and the rhythms of Salento 'pizzica', which drew residents and tourists to the square. The event, with free admission, confirmed its role as a fixed appointment of the summer in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento.
