Sagra re Maccarruna Festival

The 2025 Sagra re Maccarruna was held on Fat Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Piazza Garibaldi in Rosolini. After a light afternoon drizzle, the evening turned out to be clear and cold, but this did not discourage the many locals who visited the Misericordia stand throughout the evening.

The dish served consisted of maccarruna with sauce, plenty of sausage, and a glass of wine, prepared by Area 3 coordinated by Salvatore Cataudella, who handled the cooking and distribution. There was no shortage of music and dancing. The event also had a charitable dimension, offering lonely citizens and the elderly the chance to enjoy the traditional dish. Mayor Giovanni Spadola visited the stand to thank the volunteers, while Governor Nino Savarino recalled the importance of solidarity in the initiative.
