Edition 2025 — Crapiata Materana
The 2025 edition
In 2025, Crapiata once again confirmed its dual presence in the Sassi districts. On Friday, August 1, 2025, at 8 PM, in via Fiorentini near the small church of Sant'Antonio Abate in Sasso Barisano, the 54th edition of the historic Crapiata, carried on by Nino Festa and his friends since 1972, was held. The same evening, at 8:30 PM, in via Bruno Buozzi near the small square of Madonna dell'Adris in Sasso Caveoso, another tasting of crapiata took place. Attendees savored the typical dish made of broad beans, borlotti beans, chickpeas, grass peas, lentils, and wheat, in the spirit of Matera's peasant and convivial tradition.
