The queer and FLINTA festival in Rome at Circolo MONK
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Safffo – Queer & Flinta Fest is the annual event in Rome offering twelve hours of music, art, and performance dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community. The event takes place at Circolo MONK, at via Giuseppe Mirri 35, in the Portonaccio-Casal Bertone district, just a stone's throw from Tiburtina station. It transforms the club's spaces—from the garden to the theater hall—into a welcoming environment free from judgment.
The festival was created by the Safffo collective, founded in Rome in June 2022 by Marta Massarelli and Lucy Bellotti. The goal is to provide a platform for independent queer artistic expression and to build a safer space for FLINTA people—an acronym encompassing women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and asexual individuals. Every event enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of violence or discrimination.
The program is multidisciplinary and spans various musical genres: electronic DJ sets, live concerts, performances, VJ sets, workshops, and a market featuring stalls from independent projects. Across two stages—Garden and Teatro—lesbian, queer, and trans artists from the Roman and international scenes take turns in a marathon that starts in the afternoon and continues until the early hours of the morning.
More than just a concert, Safffo is a collective experience built around the values of consent, freedom of expression, and non-judgment. The audience is an active part of a space designed to welcome bodies and identities that challenge cis-heteronormative norms, in a climate of celebration and shared awareness.
Hosted in the city of Rome, capital of the Lazio region, the festival has established itself in just a few years as a key reference point for the city's queer culture, alongside events like Rome Pride. Circolo MONK, a landmark of the city's nightlife and cultural scene, provides the ideal setting for a long day dedicated to music and community.
At the moment, the Safffo collective has not yet published the dates and program for the 2026 edition. In previous years, the event was held in June at Circolo MONK in Rome, featuring a long day of live music, DJ sets, performances, workshops, and a market of independent projects. To find out the date, line-up, and entry details, we recommend following the collective's official channels.
Circolo MONK is located at via Giuseppe Mirri 35, Rome (00159), in the Portonaccio-Casal Bertone district. It is easily accessible by public transport from Tiburtina station and various bus lines. If arriving by car, we recommend checking for parking areas in the vicinity.
Admission is ticketed. Prices vary based on the ticket type (online presale, at the door, reduced rate for the trans community). We recommend purchasing in advance, as early bird rates sell out quickly.
As this is a twelve-hour event, it is worth arriving early to experience the full program across the Garden and Teatro stages. The event adheres to a safer space policy: respect and consent are at the heart of the experience.
