Edition 2025 — Sacred Music at the Celio
Twelfth edition, November 2025
From November 7 to 30, 2025, the Sacred Music Festival in the Basilicas of the Celio animated some of the oldest churches in Rome with ten free concerts. The common thread chosen by the artistic direction of Maestro Mario Bassani was the relationship between sacred text and music, explored through an itinerary that spanned centuries of musical history, with particular attention to the Renaissance and Baroque periods performed on period instruments.
Among the guest ensembles, the Labyrinthus Vocum ensemble performed at Santa Pudenziana on November 14, the vocal duo Il Sentiero Armonico on November 15, and the female vocal group Daltrocanto on November 16. The schedule touched upon San Clemente al Laterano, Santi Quattro Coronati, Santo Stefano Rotondo, Santi Giovanni e Paolo al Celio, Santa Pudenziana, Santi Marcellino e Pietro, and Santi Quirico e Giulitta. A Solemn Mass, celebrated on November 22, completed the program.
As always, access was completely free, confirming the public vocation of the initiative promoted by the Rome I Centre Municipality.
