Sacred Heart of Mary Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sacred Heart of Mary Festival was celebrated in Marinella di Selinunte, a district of Castelvetrano (TP), on the third Sunday of August, Sunday, August 17, 2025, preceded in the days prior by the rosary, vespers, and Eucharistic celebrations at the parish.

In the afternoon, the statue of the Sacred Heart of Mary was carried in a walking procession through the village streets, starting from Piazza Empedocle Porto. This was followed by the Eucharistic celebration at the harbor and then the evocative sea procession, with the statue placed on a boat and escorted by a fleet of fishing boats adorned with lights, in front of the temples of Selinunte. The festival concluded at midnight with the traditional fireworks display, eagerly awaited by residents and tourists alike.
