Edition 2025 — Ru Carnevale re Sernia

In 2025 too, on Shrove Tuesday, Isernia revived 'Ru Carnevale re Sernia — The Gate of Hell', the dialectal masquerade created in the twenties from the script by Giotto De Matteis, with a procession from Palazzo San Francesco to Piazza Celestino V.

The 2025 edition of the dialectal masquerade of Isernia renewed the tradition of 'Ru Carnevale re Sernia' on Shrove Tuesday. The procession of masked characters, with the Devil and the souls of the city, paraded from the historic center to Piazza Celestino V for the final show, reviving the dialectal script conceived in the late twenties by Giotto De Matteis. The event is organized by the Municipality of Isernia with the Pro Loco and the ARSIS association.
