The most orange festival of spring, between books, music, and encounters
Rovigoracconta is the cultural festival of Rovigo, the capital of Polesine in Veneto, conceived and organized by the association Liquirizia. Recognizable by its orange color, it enlivens the historic squares and palaces of the city for an entire weekend at the end of May — from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II to the Gardens of Piazza Matteotti, from Palazzo Roverella to Palazzo Roncale — with a packed program of free admission events.
The festival intertwines literature, music, scientific dissemination, and current affairs: book presentations with big names in Italian publishing, dialogues on contemporary issues, readings, concerts, and workshops. Each edition revolves around a theme word that guides its programming, involving dozens of guests including writers, journalists, disseminators, and artists.
In addition to the main events, Rovigoracconta dedicates space to children, cultural walks through the city, and the numerous reading groups of Veneto, which gather for collective moments. It is an event that transforms Rovigo into a capital of accessible, free, and participatory culture, capable of attracting an audience from all over the Northeast.
The 2026 edition of Rovigoracconta had the theme "Breathe", an invitation to find space within oneself in a fragmented time. From May 29 to 31, the festival animated Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the Gardens of Piazza Matteotti, Palazzo Roverella, Palazzo Roncale, and the Church of Christ with free admission events, presentations, and concerts. Among the novelties, the Garden of Spirituality — the first space of its kind in an Italian literary festival, dedicated to meditation, yoga, and mindfulness — and the grand gathering of over 300 reading groups from Veneto for a collective live reading.
Among the guests also the group Eugenio in Via Di Gioia, Francesco Vidotto, and Rick DuFer. Full program at rovigoracconta.it.
Rovigo is on the A13 motorway and on the Bologna-Padova and Verona-Rovigo railway lines. The festival venues are in the historic center, a few minutes' walk from the station.
End of May (in 2026 from May 29 to 31).
