About Rovigo Carnival

The Rovigo Carnival transforms the historic center into a large open-air stage: Corso del Popolo and the main squares fill with confetti, streamers, masks, and lots of fun. Between jugglers, magic, street artists, shows with giant bubbles, and carnival dances, the day involves families and children. The heart of the festival is the costume contest, with a parade of the most beautiful, original, and eco-sustainable costumes, while shows and music alternate on the main stage.

The Carnival enlivens Rovigo's center

The Rovigo Carnival is one of the most colorful festivals of the year for the capital of Polesine. For one day, Corso del Popolo, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, and Piazza Garibaldi become the stage for a grand carnival celebration, with confetti, streamers, and masks of all kinds. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Rovigo.

Shows, jugglers, and magic

The program is designed to involve families and children in particular: jugglers, magic, carnival dances, entertainment with the masks of Arlecchino and Colombina and the puppet Fagiolino, face painting, street artists, and spectacular shows with giant bubbles. On the main stage, set up in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, shows and music alternate.

The costume contest

The highlight is the costume contest, with prizes for the most beautiful, funniest, youngest, most original, and most eco-friendly costume. The parade of participants, with imaginative and sustainable costumes, enlivens the streets of the center and celebrates the creativity of adults and children, in a Carnival that is also a community celebration in the heart of Rovigo.
