"Rocca di Papa - City of Art" Plein Air Painting Competition

Eighth edition, June 22, 2025

In 2025, the plein air painting competition in Rocca di Papa opened registration at 8:30 AM on Sunday, June 22, with the inauguration of the colored sawdust carpets at 10:00 AM, the return of works by 5:30 PM, and the awards ceremony at 7:00 PM, followed by evening musical entertainment.

The edition's theme, "From the Woods to the Village - Tastes and Landscapes," linked painting to the landscape and local gastronomy: alongside the artists' easels, there were tastings of the "Ciambelle degli Sposi" (wedding donuts), a craft market, food stalls, and a musical cabaret show. The artistic direction was entrusted to Oriana Croce.

The day, which saw high participation, confirmed the formula that combines a painting competition with a village festival, contributing to the revitalization of the historic center of the Municipality in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital.
