Rificolona Festival in Castellina in Chianti

The 2025 edition of the Rificolona Festival took place on September 7th in the historic center of Castellina in Chianti, in the province of Siena. As per the tradition of Florentine origin, the evening began at 9:15 PM with a gathering in front of the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore, from which the procession of colorful paper lanterns, modeled in various shapes, departed.

The parade, accompanied by the notes of the Castellina in Chianti Philharmonic Society, crossed the village streets, involving families and children in one of the most heartfelt events of "Summer in Castellina." The festival renewed the town's bond with an ancient popular custom dating back to the mid-17th century.
