Edition 2025 — Rievocandum 1557

The 2025 edition of Rievocandum 1557 – Gold and Black Powder took place in San Polo d'Enza (RE) from June 13 to 15. Three days rich in record numbers: over 200 soldiers in heavy armor, 22 military companies from Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Hungary, and Germany, 70 selected exhibitors from all over Europe, and more than 100 archers at the Sunday tournament, all surrounding the grand Farnese Battle.

The 2025 edition of Rievocandum 1557 – Gold and Black Powder was held in San Polo d'Enza (RE) from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15, confirming itself as one of the most attended Renaissance re-enactments in Emilia-Romagna.

The program included the ribbon cutting and inauguration on Friday, folk concerts on Saturday – including The Rumpled from Bolzano and Celtica Pipes Rock – and the "Ruota contesa" (tug-of-war between municipalities) late Saturday evening. Sunday was dedicated to the re-enactment of The Farnese Battle of 1557, with twelve Renaissance cannons on the field, and the tournament which attracted over a hundred archers.

Among the attractions were eight taverns serving medieval dishes, beer, mead, and hippocras, the archers' village with a public shooting range, and a high-quality historical-artisanal market, for an event that surpassed the previous year's attendance of over 11,000 visitors.
