Remembrance Day 2025 in Rome

The 2025 edition of Remembrance Day at the Rome War Cemetery was marked by the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The ceremony was presided over by the British Deputy Head of Mission David Burton OBE, with a wreath laid by Claudia Scimonelli, Country Manager for Italy of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

The commemoration was attended by ambassadors from various Commonwealth nations in Italy, officers of the Italian Armed Forces and the Carabinieri, as well as the Ambassador of Belgium to Italy and representatives of the Flemish Community. The choir of the St George's British International School Rome performed two pieces, accompanying a moment of great intensity and reflection among the graves of the fallen.
