Olympic Weightlifting in Rubano
The Regional Open Round of Qualification is an Olympic weightlifting competition (weightlifting) held in Rubano, in the province of Padua, at the ASD Grossfit gym on Via Pitagora. The event is organized by the Veneto Regional Committee of the Federation of Weightlifting (FIPE).
A Competition Valid for National Rankings
The competition is a qualifying round whose results feed into two national circuits: the University Criterium, reserved for athletes enrolled in accredited universities, and the Lift For Fun event, dedicated to younger participants (promotional categories). Weigh-ins begin early in the morning, and the competitions continue throughout the day.
The Sport of Weightlifting
Olympic weightlifting includes the two disciplines of the snatch and the clean and jerk, in which athletes attempt to lift the maximum weight in a single movement. Events like this are an important moment for the weightlifting movement in Veneto, offering athletes the chance to qualify and improve their rankings in an official competitive setting.
Regional Open Weightlifting — edition 2026
The 3rd Regional Open Round of Qualification in Olympic weightlifting is scheduled for Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026 at the ASD Grossfit gym in Rubano, Via Pitagora 16/H.
Weigh-ins start at 7:30 AM and competitions from 9:00 AM. The competition, organized by the Veneto Regional Committee of the Federation of Weightlifting, is valid for the national rankings of the University Criterium (for athletes enrolled in accredited universities) and the 2nd Lift For Fun event, dedicated to those born between 2014 and 2016. Registrations without penalty close on April 19, 2026.

Registrations managed by clubs through the federal system; penalty-free registration deadline April 19, 2026.

How to get there
Rubano is located west of Padua, along the SR11, well connected from Padua and the A4 motorway (Padova Ovest exit). The ASD Grossfit gym is at Via Pitagora 16/H.
