Edition 2025 — Refugee Week Rome

In June 2025, the first Italian edition of Refugee Week, the international festival dedicated to refugee art and culture, kicked off. Coordinated by UNHCR and Second Tree, the event involved several Italian cities with widespread initiatives for World Refugee Day (June 20), bringing meetings and cultural activities on the theme of reception to Rome as well.

The First Italian Edition (2025)

Refugee Week Italy 2025 marked the debut in our country of the world's largest festival dedicated to the creativity and resilience of refugees. Coordinated by UNHCR and Second Tree, the first edition enlivened numerous Italian cities, including Rome, with a widespread calendar of cultural events, meetings, and testimonies linked to World Refugee Day on June 20.

The initiative laid the foundations for an annual event capable of telling the story of migration beyond the dimension of emergency, valuing the contributions and talents of those who have found a new community in Italy. The success of the first edition paved the way for the even broader 2026 program.
