Re-enactment of the Lancellotti Castle Fire (1799)

Summer 2025 in Lauro

The 2025 summer program of the Municipality of Lauro, in the province of Avellino, took place from June 10 to September 6 and distributed events between Palazzo Pignatelli, Lancellotti Castle, and the squares of the historic center: from the Gala under the stars with the I Virtuosi Napoletani orchestra to the Dawn Concert at the end of August, from the Music Festival to the Feast of the Patron Saints on August 25 and 26.

At Lancellotti Castle, the major event of the season was Lumina in Castro, which reached its nineteenth edition and took place from August 22 to 24, 2025, organized by the Pro Lauro association: historical pageant, shows in the first courtyard, workshops for children, and itinerant re-enactments in the second courtyard.

No date for the fire

In the official 2025 calendar, there was no evening dedicated to the re-enactment of the 1799 fire, which in previous seasons had taken place between late August and early September. The event returned to the municipal program with the Lauro Festival 2026, which places it on August 30, 2026, and presents it as the most anticipated event of the entire schedule.
