Raiz's show between Neapolitan song and narration, a summer stop in the Sibillini Mountains
On July 19, 2026, the small village of Montefalcone Appennino, in the province of Fermo, in the heart of the Monti Sibillini, will host one of the most recognizable voices on the Italian music scene: Raiz, born Gennaro Della Volpe, a Neapolitan singer, actor, and writer, the historic voice of the ethno-dub collective Almamegretta. The stop in the Marche region is part of the 2026 summer tour of the show «Montecalvario», which travels across Italy, visiting squares, castles, archaeological parks, and villages from north to south.
«Montecalvario» takes its name from the Neapolitan district officially corresponding to the famous Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Quarters). Within the folds of that district runs a narrative made of real and invented stories, inspired by Raiz's life and art: ups and downs, victories and defeats, pain and rebirth walk and feed each other. The show combines live music and readings, in a balance between concert and theatrical storytelling.
On stage, Raiz is accompanied by Radicanto, a band from Bari with whom the artist has been collaborating for some time. The repertoire draws from the songs that have marked his career: from the songs of the great Neapolitan tradition, particularly those of Sergio Bruni (to whom Raiz dedicated the album «Si ll'ammore è 'o ccuntrario d''a morte»), to the historic hits of Almamegretta, including «Rosa», the song written in 2024 for the television series «Mare Fuori».
For years, Montefalcone Appennino's summer music events have found their natural setting in the Giardino Tronelli, a historic park created in the 1920s on a rocky spur overlooking the Monti Sibillini, now municipally owned. It is here that the Sibilia in Musica festival takes place, which has brought names like Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, and Kocani Orkestar to the village. Raiz's performance is part of this season of authorial concerts that enhance a small municipality in the Marche hinterland, restoring cultural centrality to the inland areas of the Apennines.
The Marche stop of Raiz's 2026 tour is confirmed for Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Montefalcone Appennino (FM). The show «Montecalvario» is a journey through the songs that have marked the artist's career, with live music and readings. The time, final venue, and admission details will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the evening.
