Edition 2025 — Racalmare Sciascia Prize
35th edition — August 30, 2025
The final evening of the 35th edition of the Racalmare – Leonardo Sciascia – Città di Grotte Prize was held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Piazza Umberto I, in the heart of Grotte (Agrigento). As per tradition, the winner was determined by the Popular Jury of readers.
The finalists and the winner
Three novels were in competition: La suggeritrice by Emanuela Abbadessa (Neri Pozza), Quello che so di te by Nadia Terranova (Guanda), and I giorni di vetro by Nicoletta Verna (Einaudi). Nicoletta Verna prevailed with I giorni di vetro, a historical novel set in Romagna during the Fascist era.
Lifetime Achievement Award
During the evening, the committee, chaired by Rosario Castelli, awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award to writer Silvana La Spina. The edition was promoted by the Municipality of Grotte, with Mayor Alfonso Provvidenza serving as president and Councilor Annamaria Todaro as director.
