QCine – The Taste of Cinema

The third consecutive edition in Francavilla Fontana, the 14th edition of QCine – The Taste of Cinema took place from August 24 to 27, 2025, in Piazza Giovanni XXIII, confirming the formula that combines screenings, meetings with authors, live music, and culinary pairings.

Four evenings with free admission brought some of the protagonists of Italian cinema and culture to the square. The festival opened with a masterclass by master Pupi Avati and continued with a meeting with poet Franco Arminio. The most anticipated moment was the unplugged live performance by singer-songwriter Ermal Meta, while the final evening, included in the official Camilleri 100 program, remembered the Sicilian writer with the screening of an episode of Inspector Montalbano. In 2025, the festival was once again organized by the Municipality of Francavilla Fontana together with Bunker Lab, with artistic direction by Alessandro Contessa and Luigi Sardiello.

Sunday, August 24 — 8:00 PM

• Masterclass by master Pupi Avati on his cinema, with the screening of «Ma quando arrivano le ragazze?». Opening with the «Spuntino di riflessione» by Luigi Dimitri.

Monday, August 25 — 8:00 PM

• Meeting with poet Franco Arminio and screening of «Un mondo a parte» by Riccardo Milani.

Tuesday, August 26 — 8:00 PM

• Unplugged live performance by singer-songwriter Ermal Meta, who shared his music with the audience, and screening of «Nuovomondo» by Emanuele Crialese.

Wednesday, August 27 — 8:00 PM — Camilleri 100

• Meeting with Giuseppe De Nozza on legality and the fight against crime, followed by the screening of «Il Commissario Montalbano – La piramide di fango» by Alberto Sironi, in collaboration with the Andrea Camilleri Foundation. The evening was dedicated to Brigadier Carlo Legrottaglie.

Each evening was accompanied by food stands and original sandwich-based pairings.
