Edition 2025 — Püst – Resian Carnival
The 2025 edition of the Resian Carnival confirmed its ritual structure spread across the villages of Val Resia. Evenings of music and dance to the sound of traditional instruments — the cïtira and bünkula — accompanied the appearance of the masks, the elegant 'te lipe bile maškire' with their flowery hats, and the grotesque 'babaci'. As per centuries-old tradition, the Carnival concluded on Ash Wednesday in San Giorgio di Resia with the parade, the funeral of the Babaz, and the final bonfire, marking the beginning of Lent and the end of the most identity-defining festival of the Resian linguistic minority.
