Puglia Grand Prix – UIM-ABP Aquabike Offshore and Hydrofly World Championships

The Salento world stage

The 2025 edition of the Puglia Grand Prix was held in Torre dell'Orso (Melendugno, Lecce) from September 26 to 28, bringing together in a single weekend the UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro Offshore World Championship (Runabout GP1, GP2, and GP3 categories) and the second edition of the Hydrofly World Championship (Men Pro and Women Pro), with 22 participants in the water-flight world championship.

Friday was dedicated to pilot registration, free practice, and qualifying sessions; Saturday and Sunday featured race heats from approximately 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with award ceremonies on Sunday afternoon. Despite the rain that characterized part of the weekend, Salento confirmed its role as a protagonist in water sports, with races hard-fought until the final heat.

Among the protagonists were international athletes like François Medori, alongside Italian, French, German, and Spanish pilots. Juri Tiozzo from Chioggia also reached the GP3 podium, taking the world silver medal. The event, organized by Aquabike Promotion & Hardwave and Dinamica ASD, was hailed by the Municipality of Melendugno as a tool for extending the tourist season and a showcase for Salento.

• From 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM — Aquabike Offshore final runs (up to 4 total heats)
• Hydrofly World Championship finals
• 5:00 PM — Award ceremonies and presentation of world titles
