Edition 2025 — Puglia by UTMB

The 2025 edition of Puglia by UTMB, held from November 7 to 9, marked the debut of the Castellaneta Urban Trail in the UTMB World Series circuit. Over 3,000 athletes from more than 70 countries tackled the trails through the ravines, from Matera to Castellaneta Marina, in a weekend that projected Puglia onto the world trail scene.

The first edition under the UTMB World Series banner took place from November 7 to 9, 2025, based in Castellaneta (Taranto). The event, heir to the Castellaneta Urban Trail (CUTPUGLIA), attracted over 3,000 participants from more than 70 nations, a record number for a trail race in Southern Italy.

Runners competed over various distances through the Parco delle Gravine, among canyons, rock-hewn churches, and olive groves, with starts from the Sassi of Matera for the longer races and finishes towards the Ionian coast of Castellaneta Marina. The edition awarded the first Puglian Running Stones valid for the Chamonix final, establishing the event as a new benchmark in the international trail calendar.
