The 2025 edition of the September descent confirmed the extraordinary popular participation in this Lucanian tradition. On the first Sunday of the month, after the all-night vigil of pilgrims on the Sacred Mount, the Black Madonna of Viggiano descended at dawn in procession to the Pontifical Basilica, accompanied by thousands of faithful. The return of the Patroness of Basilicata turned into a grand festival with religious celebrations and musical events, crowning one of the region's most beloved anniversaries.
