Processione dei Santi Cosma e Damiano

Devotion to Saints Cosma and Damian is one of the most heartfelt traditions of Sant'Elena Sannita. In the 2025 edition, the faithful set off at dawn on September 30th towards the sanctuary, about two kilometres from the village, where Masses were celebrated throughout the day.

In the afternoon, the procession led the patron saints back to the mother church, in a rite that combines the effort of the pilgrimage, devotion, and community, typical of the villages in the inner Molise region in the province of Isernia.

As per tradition, the 2025 programme included the dawn pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Saints Cosma and Damian, Masses during the day, and the afternoon procession returning to the mother church.
