Edition 2025 — Procession of the Jews
The 2025 edition of the Procession of the Jews was held on Friday, April 18th, Good Friday. As per centuries-old tradition, the procession began late in the evening from the Church of Mercy to wind through the historic center of Pennabilli, illuminated by torches, lanterns, and braziers. The costumed participants, the "Jews" inspired by Piero della Francesca's Roman guards, and the 1631 papier-mâché sculpture accompanied the re-enactment of the Passion to the heights of the Rupe, a symbol of Golgotha. The event, recognized since 2018 as a Historical Event of the Emilia-Romagna Region, confirmed the strong bond between the town and this ancient Good Friday tradition.
