Edition 2025 — Cristo Morto Norcia
On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, Norcia renewed its traditional representation of the Passion. At 3:30 PM, the Lament of the Madonna by Jacopone da Todi was staged by the local theater company in the square of the church of Sant'Antonio Abate, in Capolaterra.
At 9:00 PM, the Procession of the Dead Christ began, winding along the city walls with a heart-shaped route. Approximately 300 costumed participants — Roman soldiers on horseback, devout women in black, chained penitents — accompanied the ten living pictures of the Via Crucis, amidst the roll of drums and the glow of torches.
