Procession of Saints Cosma and Damian

The devotion to Saints Cosma and Damian is one of the most heartfelt traditions of Sant'Elena Sannita. In the 2025 edition, the faithful set off at dawn on September 30th towards the sanctuary, about two kilometers from the village, where Masses were celebrated during the day.

In the afternoon, the procession led the healer saints back to the mother church, in a rite that combines the effort of the pilgrimage, devotion, and community, typical of the villages of inland Molise in the province of Isernia.

As tradition dictates, the 2025 program included the dawn pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Saints Cosma and Damian, Masses during the day, and the afternoon procession back to the mother church.
