Prima della Scala

On December 7th, 2025, Sant'Ambrogio's day, the Prima della Scala inaugurated the 2025-2026 season of Milan's Teatro alla Scala. As every year, the evening represented much more than a performance: a cultural and social event involving the entire city, from the foyer crowded with authorities and personalities to the square, and the television broadcast watched throughout Italy. The Ambrosian ritual of the Prima confirmed the Scala's role as one of the world's temples of opera and the opening of its season as one of the most prestigious events on the international cultural calendar.
