Edition 2025 — Premio Roma
Premio Roma 2025, the 83rd edition
The 2025 edition saw 85 original varieties compete, entered by 24 hybridizers from Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. The breakdown by category included 37 floribunda, 21 hybrid tea, 13 shrub roses, 8 groundcover and miniature, and 6 climbing roses.
Germany took first prize in the hybrid tea category, as well as awards in the shrub and climbing rose categories and the special award for the children's rose. France won the special awards for fragrance and the elderly's rose, while Italy took first place in the miniature and groundcover category. The awards ceremony took place as per tradition in the lower section of the Rose Garden, with free admission.
