Premio Bancarella

The 2025 edition of the Premio Bancarella was celebrated on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Pontremoli, with the traditional ceremony in Piazza della Repubblica. The winner was the novel "Come l'arancio amaro" by Milena Palminteri (Bompiani), which gathered 204 votes from the booksellers of the electoral college, distinguishing itself in a highly competitive shortlist. Set in Sicily between the 1920s and 1960s, the novel had already captivated readers with over 200,000 copies sold. As per tradition, the author received the sculpture of Saint John of God, the patron saint of booksellers, the symbol of the Pontremoli award.
