Edition 2025 — Pragser Kirchtag

During the last weekend of October 2025, the hamlet of Ferrara/Schmieden celebrated the Pragser Kirchtag, the traditional village festival of Braies (Prags). The local youth manually raised the nearly thirty-meter-tall Kirtamichlbam, followed by the evening Kirtaball, the Sunday Bavarian breakfast with Weißwurst and beer, and lunch featuring South Tyrolean specialties.

The 2025 edition of the Pragser Kirchtag took place on the last weekend of October in the hamlet of Ferrara/Schmieden, in the municipality of Braies (Prags), in the Puster Valley.

As per tradition, on Saturday, the local youth manually raised the Kirtamichlbam, the Kirchtag tree standing between 28 and 30 meters tall, followed by the evening Kirtaball with folk music. Sunday featured a Bavarian breakfast with Weißwurst and beer, lunch with South Tyrolean culinary specialties, live music in the afternoon, and the lottery draw with the tree as the prize. A community festival organized by the rural youth of Braies.
