The pea festival of the Berici Hills

The Pozzolo Pea Festival is the food and wine festival dedicated to "bisi", the peas that have made the hamlet of Pozzolo, in the municipality of Villaga, famous, in the heart of the Berici Hills in the province of Vicenza. Pozzolo peas are a De.Co. (Municipal Designation) product: they grow on sun-exposed terraces and "hillsides" that, thanks to the always mild climate, allow for early and particularly tender and sweet production.

Tastings, exhibition, and orienteering

The festival offers an exhibition dedicated to pea varieties, with opportunities to taste local products, alongside food stands that showcase this Berici excellence. Among the most characteristic events are an orienteering race through the hills (a stage of the Beric-O Tour) and evenings of music and dancing that liven up the hamlet. An opportunity to discover an identity product and the hilly landscape that produces it.

The promotion of Pozzolo peas is the result of the work of the Villaga community and local associations, who have made this legume a flag for the territory. The festival, part of the circuit of events in the Berici Hills, combines gastronomy, agricultural tradition, and landscape discovery, attracting visitors from all over the province of Vicenza.
