Edition 2025 — Potato Festival
Potato Festival 2025: the 37th edition
In 2025, the Potato Festival of San Michele di Serino, in the Province of Avellino, reached its 37th edition, scheduled from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24. That year, the organization was once again handled by the Pro Loco «Sabe Maioris», which has kept the event alive since the late eighties.
The scheduling in the second half of August confirmed the choice of recent years: the festival falls during the period when the town is most populated, between summer returns and visitors from neighboring municipalities of the Sabato Valley. The food stalls, open in the early evening along the streets of the center, offered the usual selection of dishes based on Irpinian potatoes — potato gnocchi with tomato sauce, turnip greens and potatoes, mashed potatoes with porcini mushrooms and smoked provola cheese, potato parmigiana, French fries, sfogliate, and potato zeppole — paired with local wines.
The three evenings were animated, as per the festival tradition, by live folk music and roaming shows in the streets, with street artists and entertainment for families and children. The success of the 2025 edition led to the confirmation of the formula for the following August.
