Three evenings of intense aromas and authentic flavors, with food stalls dedicated to porcini harvested in the beech forests of Mount Cervati, folk music, and the hospitality of the Cilento people. Affordable prices and a proven formula: pay at the register and collect your dish to enjoy at outdoor tables.

Piaggine, August 2025

From August 18 to 20, 2025, the historic center of Piaggine, in the Province of Salerno, hosted a new edition of the Porcini Mushroom Festival. For three evenings, the streets and squares of the village transformed into a large open-air lounge, with tables set up among the stone houses and food stalls besieged from the early afternoon.

The flavors of the Cervati

The absolute star was the porcini harvested in the beech forests covering the slopes of Mount Cervati: fresh mushroom pasta, risotto, gnocchi with porcini sauce, grilled, breaded, and fried mushrooms, as well as cheeses and cured meats from small local producers. Live music and folk groups accompanied the tastings, with play areas for children.

A growing event

Confirming the success of previous editions, the festival attracted visitors from all over Cilento and the Vallo di Diano, consolidating its role as a showcase for the rural economy of this corner of Campania and for slow tourism within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park.
