Pontino Music Festival (Fossanova stops)

2025 Edition — the 61st

The 61st Pontino Music Festival was held from July 3 to 31, 2025, with the usual itinerant structure across the municipalities of the province of Latina, in Lazio. The inaugural concert, on Thursday, July 3 at the Caetani Castle in Sermoneta, was entirely female: Louise Farrenc: a woman in the mirror, a tribute to the French pianist and composer on the 150th anniversary of her death.

The edition focused on three lines of work: attention to female composers, support for young musicians—performers and composers—and today's music, with the International Meetings of Contemporary Music hosted on July 15 and 16. Over one hundred musicians animated a lineup that ranged from Baroque to pop, alternating cornerstones of the repertoire, rediscoveries, and rarities, in the monumental settings that have accompanied the festival for sixty years.
