Edition 2025 — Pommattertag

In the summer of 2025, the Pommattertag once again enlivened the village of Ponte, confirming itself as the most important identity-focused event for the Walser community of Formazza. On the Dorf Platz, the usual customs were renewed: traditional costumes, woodworking demonstrations, and moments dedicated to the Titsch language, in a day that attracts locals and visitors connected to the Pomatt culture every year.

The 2025 edition of the Pommattertag took place in the usual setting of the Dorf Platz, in Ponte di Formazza, in the heart of Val Formazza (Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). The day, organized by the Pro Loco together with the Walserverein Pomatt, celebrated the identity of the oldest Walser community in Italy.

As per tradition, the people of Formazza wore their typical attire and brought to life demonstrations of crafts linked to the local culture, particularly woodworking, accompanied by moments dedicated to the Titsch language and mountain gastronomy. The festival was part of a summer full of events in the valley, helping to pass on a unique cultural heritage in the Italian Alpine landscape.
